Agree
and next are some add-on, personal opinion.
What our eyes need to be protected while fishing, next 3.
1.) ultraviolet radiation, which is invisible and is often called "UV rays"
2.) bright or intense light
3.) blue light
Sunglasses can reduce the light into eyes, and polarized sunglasses are especially good for fisherman, cause polarized lenses cut out light from horizontal meridian which minimizes the glare from light that bounces off water. Both are big help for 2.), but originally have little or nothing to do with 1.) - UV protection, until manufactures use materials that can provide UV protection. Here is what a good or bad (not necessary expensive or cheap although often it is) makes difference in long run. Good sunglasses for example made of polycarbonate (聚碳酸酯) can provide close to 100% UV protection, while bad sunglasses due to the saving of cost can be made of Cellulose triacetate (三醋酸纤维素) that can absorb only 40% UV rays.
Since UV carries more energy, it will do more harm to your eyes than the other two.
Wearing inferior sunglasses can be more damaging to our eyes than no sunglasses, cause the darkness of sunglasses will make our eye's 瞳孔 open wider which allows move UV coming through unless the lens can absorb it. The UV eye damage is cumulative over long period of time and you might won't feel it till to 角膜炎, 白内障, 黄斑 etc bother you as UV is invisible, not like bright light you can feel instantly. Some optical shops have little machines that can measure the amount of UV your lens can absorb, test it out or, go to a store with good reputation, and ask about UV protection before you buy.
Sunglasses marked with UV 400 can help .3). This is less harmful than the other two.
