死钩钩最深的地方才15尺。。。。。死钩钩用探鱼器等于没用，太多草，一般才八九尺深度，水草三四尺， 冰一两尺，能见度也就两三尺。。。。。。。。。

您照我下面说的步骤/顺序设定, 绝对没错:

reset all settings:
Menu/menu/System/Restore Defaults
Run Wizard - yes
Lakes - yes
ice fishing - no (对, 是 ICE FISHING, 但这个选项要选择 NO)
less than 60 feet - no
Advanced - yes


Menu/settings/sonar:
mode - deep water
noise rejection - off/lowest
surface clarity - off

Menu:
AUTO SENSIVITY - off
Range: (based on water depth: If water depth is 35 feet, set it to 40 feet, for example)
frequency - 83 not 200
ping - fastest

Menu/sonar options/color/iceview

Menu/Adjust:
sensitivity - 100 (然后逐渐降低, 直到合适为止. 水深比如 60 以上, 设置高比如 90%, 水浅时, 大概 80% 足够了)
colorline - 82 or 84 - lure is just starting to turn blue

Sorry, my pingying is very bad.

So I went out today. The first lake I went to is Scugog. No one was on the lake, and it looks scary. so I turned away for the next lake.




then I went to Chemong lake, I still didn't see any one or any fishing hut on the lake. So I decided to try it from shore and explore further and further by drilling the holes away from the shore. The thickness was about 3 inches in the first hole, and the second hole was about 4 inches, the third hole was about 5 inches. There about 2 meters apart each hole toward the centre of the lake.


After the third hole, the problem began. The brand new auger I bought from Canadian tire started giving me trouble. It wont' drill at all. It took me more than 5 minutes to get the hole less than 1 inch deep . The first 3 holes, each one only took less than a minutes.



After I struggled for another hour, I gave up. The ice auger doesn't drill at all.

This ice auger is what I bought from Canadian tire.


For the Elite 4 settings, it was not working well. I didn't see the signals from my lure. or maybe the water depth was too low. I might need more time to play around it, since this is the first time I use a fishing finder.



I still enjoyed the day out.

did you crank the auger with both hands such that the auger was turning about its own axis, not wobbling?

Well, studying that pic further to find out it's a single crank auger (with the top donut)....so single hand cranking should do it right

did you turn in the right direction with the last hole? .....more likely than not you might have changed hand and so is the direction....clockwise all the way!

死狗狗到处是3-5" black ice. 转的时候，用力下压没有？

Scugog 你去的地方是冰到了一定的厚度以后开车上冰的地方，不是冰钓的地方，当然没有人了。

我感觉你钻完三个洞以后，从照片中看，你把钻放到雪中，没有注意保护刀片，刀片的表面结了一层的冰，所以钻不动了。CT的东西不是那么的好，但是怎么说也不能只让你钻3个洞。

站长的设定是对深湖的，好像 mode - deep water 对死狗狗是不行的, 死狗狗草多不好用。没草的地方试试 Shallow Water/200 Khz.

嗯, 我说的设定, 对 10, 20 多尺以上, 特别是深水(比如 LAKE SIMCOE 的 100 尺甚至 120 多尺深水钓 LAKER), 保证好用. 如果只有比如 5 或 6 尺水深, 以上的很多设置选项中也可能有些设定不同.

You are right, I think I was at the wrong place in Scugog.

I tried to clean the ice on the blades. Nothing changed.

The first hole was about 5 feet of water, the second hole was about 7 fow, the third one was 7.5 fow. I also tried to set the range to 6 feet, 10 feet etc. I think I need more time to play it around.

I had cut the first 3 holes without pain. It was fast, less than a minutes for each hole. I spend another hour cutting the next hole and I finally gave up. My two arms are still sour right now.

with a 5" auger you should be able to punch through 4" of ice within 10 seconds
you must have done something wrong
it's a single crank auger you should only crank with one hand and hold the donut down with the other hand without cranking....the auger would cut only if you turn it in the clockwise direction

个人感觉，你是的压在冰钻最顶端的手没有增加向下的压力，压住之后会钻的很快。

well, not really so...please ignore my above comments
both sides of the blades have rake angle actually, only one side steeper than the other

looks like my comments per floor#18 still hold
